INS is organised in year groups and the child’s date of birth will determine
which year group they belong to. An academic year starts on 1st September and
ends on 31st August. The children move through the school in these groups,
they do not move ’up’ (or ’down’) depending on ‘ability’. There are currently five age ranges within the school and children will be allocated to a colour group:
Punctuality
The school day starts at 9 am. All children should be in their classroom at that time. The first 10 minutes of each session are essential for the child. In this time
the teacher talks about the learning objectives for the day. Latecomers
affect not just their own education but that of the rest of the class.
Please plan to arrive in the classroom between 8.50 am. and 9 am. Please
note that you are responsible for your child until handed over to a member
of staff. Children should not be left unattended. |
Collection of children on time is also very important. At
12 noon staff have to organise lunches and at 3 pm there are often meetings
or training courses which the staff need to attend. Children should
not be left at the school after these times, it causes great distress to the
child when everyone else has gone and they are left. Repeated latecomers will be asked to pay a supervision fee based on the hourly rate. Staying longer at school Lunches Snack |
